The release of Smokin' Joe Kubek & Bnois King's Blind Pig debut ROADHOUSE RESEARCH proved that these guys are still on top of their game. A little more than a year later, they're back with twelve new cuts. These songs show the band's willing to take some chances on their new CD SHOW ME THE MONEY.

Joe's catchy guitar riff grabs you, then Bnois' smooth vocals takes you away on the opening track "I SAW IT COMING". Kubek works the slide to emphasize the lyrics on "BURNIN' TO THE GROUND". He then adds electric bass on "MIRROR MIRROR" to double up the groove. Drummer Ralph Powers gets to kick the slow blues of "SHE CAN SMELL ANOTHER WOMAN" into life before the dynamic duo run with it.

The boogie ode to their home state, "MY HEART'S IN TEXAS", is filled with a good time party feeling. "INVITATION ONLY" features fellow guitar slinger Anson Funderburgh, lending a helping hand to this rocking tune. The intentional instrumental mourn of "ARMADILLO BLUES" is dedicated to two of the band's friends they lost recently, including rhythm and blues singer Al "TNT" Braggs. "CAN'T KEEP HER HANDS OFF" picks the pace back up with Joe's hot licks.

The mid tempo "STOP MESSIN" WITH MY MIND" is lead by Powers and bassist Paul Jenkins. Kubek's acoustic work make "CRAZY WORLD" one of the band's all time best numbers. "LET'S STOP PRETENDING" is a blues shuffle that will give music fans a great new dance tune. "TIRED OF CRYIN' OVER YOU" is another song in the style their fans have come to expect. Go down to your local music store or see this band in their most natural element, live in concert, and say I need SHOW ME THE MONEY. You'll be glad you did.
